Born and raised in Osnabr\u00fcck, Benjamin zur Heide went to Hamburg to train as an event technician and subsequently worked there as a freelance technician for theaters (including Kampnagel, Thalia Theater), touring theaters and events as well as a planner for theater technology.<\/p>\n
In 2007, he initially joined the Ruhrtriennale festival as a freelance technician and planner. During the directorships of Heiner Goebbels, Johan Simons, Stefanie Carp and Barbara Frey, he worked there as a planner and technical project manager on a wide variety of projects in the fields of (music) theater, dance, performance and art installations.<\/p>\n
Most recently working there as Technical Director, he left the Ruhrtriennale at the end of 2021 to devote more time to his work and family in his adopted home of Cologne.<\/p>\n
Since 2023, he has been Technical Director of africologneFESTIVAL in addition to numerous other assignments.<\/p>\n
