You can snatch everything from a person except his dream, his imagination, his illusion. Stories are subject to all kinds of change over the course of time. But how can we remix bodies, memories or opinions?Four artists find themselves in an imaginary space and decide to appropriate it. They want to redefine it and tell it in their own way – in a world that is constantly changing.The Remix<\/em> explores how we can rewrite our history, individually or collectively – according to our own imagination – and what means we use to build or dream up this imaginary world… The ideas are there, but conflicts arise, as do differing or concurring points of view.<\/p>\n\n

The remix is a strategy of musical composition and innovation. The main characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and alters other materials to create something new. The company translates this practice into musical rearrangements, dance and choreography, because the remix involves the coexistence of different artists in one and the same work. It facilitates evolution and development and opens up the possibility of a potentially endless creative process. The material to be remixed lies with the artists, just like a say in the shaping of an entire society. “But what can we do when everything has already happened? History is the past. The Burkinabe dancer and choreographer Adonis N\u00e9bi\u00e9 <\/strong>was born in the Ivory Coast. Trained at Germaine Acogny’s \u00c9cole des Sables in Senegal and at Ballet Prejloca, he has worked with Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly (Faso Danse Th\u00e9\u00e2tre), Ir\u00e8ne Tassembedo, Olivier Tarpaga, Nadia Beugr\u00e9 and Vera Sander, among others. In 2016, he was selected for the European Union’s 1Space <\/em>project with Ballets C de la B <\/em>as a partner, which took him to Ramallah in Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These experiences led to the duet Blood Brother <\/em>with the Palestinian Ahmed Tobasi at Ballet C de la B<\/em> in Ghent, with which he also performed at africologneFESTIVAL in 2017. With his company Teguerer Danse<\/em>, he created the piece Assembl’\u00e2ge<\/em>, a work commissioned by the Hamburg Schauspielhaus. Since 2011 he has been working with Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly(Kohuma 7 degr\u00e9 Sud, Nuit blanche \u00e0 Ouagadougou, Kalakuta Republic, Kirina and Wakatt<\/em>). He also made a guest appearance at africologne with his solo Spirit <\/em>. Adonis N\u00e9bi\u00e9 gives master classes throughout Europe on the artistic approach of the Cie.
