The theater productions invited to africologne often deal with colonial, social and political-religious violence. The productions will be translated and subtitled for the festival.  <\/strong><br\/> <br\/><strong>ESSAYS AND FESTIVAL REPORTING &#8211; africologne on <a href=\"https:\/\/plateforme.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">PLATEFORME.DE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Four essays by African and Afro-diasporic artists on the subject of resistant artistic practice and translation processes in a post-colonial context will be published on plateforme.de shortly before the start of the festival. The authors are the actress and director <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plateforme.de\/magazin\/die-burkinische-schauspielerin-und-regisseurin-odile-sankara-ueber-theater-als-soziales-ereignis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Odile Sankara<\/a><\/strong>the poet and performer <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plateforme.de\/magazin\/plateforme-africologne-3-der-ugandische-lyriker-und-performer-kagayi-ngobi-ueber-die-geschichte-seines-gedichts-for-my-negativity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Kagayi Ngobi<\/a><\/strong>, the director <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plateforme.de\/magazin\/plateforme-africologne2-die-autorin-und-regisseurin-eva-doumbia-ueber-uebersetzungsprozesse-und-die-notwendigkeit-einer-tatsaechlichen-dekolonialisierung-im-kulturbereich\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Eva Doumbia<\/a><\/strong> and the choreographer <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plateforme.de\/magazin\/plateforme-africologne4-der-choreograf-raphael-moussa-hillebrand-ueber-machtkritische-und-machterhaltende-kunst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Raphael Moussa Hillebrand<\/a><\/strong>. Texts: <strong>Marie Yan<\/strong>, dramaturge, translator and author. <\/p>\n\n<p><br\/>africologne has also <strong>commissioned <\/strong>two <strong>plays <\/strong>focusing on <em>violence and resistance <\/em>: one to the Berlin author Josephine Papke and one to the Burkinabe author Justin Stanislas Drabo, who was already a guest at africologne in 2017 with <em>L&#8217;Ing\u00e9rence <\/em><em>(The Interference<\/em>). We talk to him and author Justin Stanislas Drabo about the situation in the Sahel and their personal experiences.
