LOCAL
africologneLOCAL
Since 2025, africologneLOCAL has complemented the africologneFESTIVAL with a year-round, community-based format. The focus is on encounters, exchange, and active participation. LOCAL creates spaces where the boundaries between audience members and artists are deliberately broken down, making collaborative creation possible.
Through LOCAL, we aim to promote networking, creative collaboration, and cultural participation. Our focus is on Afro-diasporic communities and perspectives, which are strengthened by connecting local and international networks.
We invite communities, artists, and anyone interested to collaborate, think creatively, and try out new ideas. By 2025, the first formats had already been developed, including the open-stage format TAKE THE STAGE, BIPoC jam sessions, and Sketch&Connect, a collaborative drawing format. These offerings will be both expanded and supplemented with new ones.
