WORKSHOP SPOKEN WORD

WORKSHOP FOR BIPOCS - Find your voice, tell your story!

Spoken word is more than just spoken language – it is a powerful tool for expressing feelings, sharing experiences and being heard. In a three-hour workshop, spoken word artists Phyllis Quartey and Joanna Peprah will take you on a creative journey. Together they will discover how to write texts, experiment with language and use the voice as a means of expression.
The workshop is aimed at BIPoCs aged 14 to 17 who want to try their hand at poetry, rap or performance – regardless of whether they have already had some experience with it or are simply curious about it. There is no pressure to perform here, but rather a protected space in which the young people can develop. They work together on topics that move them, set words in motion and give their thoughts a stage. In addition to creative writing exercises, the young people can exchange ideas with other participants and learn from each other. Because: Words are powerful – let them be loud!

Phyllis Quartey is a spoken word artist, activist and educational speaker with a focus on anti-racism and decolonization. In her poetic works, she processes personal experiences and social injustices to promote awareness and empowerment. Through her art and educational work, she creates spaces for marginalized voices and social change.
