On May 19, the festive award ceremony for the Cologne Cultural Awards 2025 took place at the COMEDIA Theater in Cologne. In the “Cultural Event of the Year 2025” category, 10 projects were initially nominated by the jury, including africologneFESTIVAL!
The public and the readers of the Kölner StadtAnzeiger and Kölnische Rundschau selected the TOP 3 via an online vote:
- africologneFESTIVAL,
- the exhibition “Five Friends. John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly” at the Museum Ludwig and
- the opening production IMAGINE by Kay Voges and Alexander Kerlin at Schauspiel Köln.
The first place (the most votes from the jury and the public) was only announced on May 19 during the award ceremony: africologneFESTIVAL 2025!!!!
